Our Mission
Our mission is to improve cancer care outcomes in Africa and close the gap in cancer care disparities with Western countries.
To ensure the attainment of our mission, we are guided by the following core values:
Professionalism
Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Approach
Patient Centredness
Optimal Individualised Quality
Easy Access
Our top priority is to alter the trajectory of the cancer narrative and bridge the healthcare gap between African countries and their more developed counterparts. According to WHO IARC data, 70% of cancer patients die, and in a country like Nigeria, with a population of 200 million citizens, 72,000 individuals die annually, with 102,000 more diagnosed. Breast cancer is the most common type of organ-specific cancer, followed by prostate, cervical, colorectal, and hepatic cancers.
Early and quicker diagnosis, prompt and timely access to healthcare, immediate initiation of treatment, and financial support are the areas we target to provide hope to cancer patients and reduce the mystique surrounding cancer in Africa. We achieve this through strategic and multi-level partnerships with organisations and healthcare institutions, including ongoing partnerships with tertiary institutions in Nigeria and other non-governmental organisations.
“Being diagnosed with cancer didn't just affect my body but also my mind. As a young person who, by God's grace, will testify to being cancer-free, I often wondered where the money for every cycle of chemotherapy, tests, and scans would come from.
But I want to sincerely thank and appreciate Help In Time Consults for coming to my aid and covering the cost of my next cycle of chemotherapy treatment, which is worth over ₦300,000 at NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre. They do this for many people who are out there fighting cancer.
We will come back to say we are cancer-free, and HIT Consults will be part of our story.
Thank you.”
