Care without bounds.
Improving cancer outcomes in Africa.
Help in Time Consults (HIT Consults) is a non-profit cancer care-based initiative. Our projects are patient-focused and aim to improve the outcomes of cancer patients in Africa by enhancing access to healthcare and implementing targeted cancer awareness programmes. We primarily achieve this through education, cancer campaigns, and access to expert opinions.
What we do
As an organisation, we understand that the challenge of cancer care in Africa is multifaceted. So we address patient needs by identifying challenges and responding promptly to areas of need while ensuring flexibility and adaptability. We achieve this through:
-
Assisting in rapid and clear cancer diagnosis and assessment pathways in tertiary institutions.
-
Ensuring long-term cancer care plans in cancer care institutions.
-
Enhancing a multi-disciplinary approach to cancer care.
-
Improving partnerships between governmental organisations, private sector, teaching hospitals, research institutes, and other charities.
-
Conducting cancer research.
-
Implementing early detection programmes.
-
Providing cancer screening services.
-
Running cancer awareness and education programmes.
-
Offering cancer care support and providing financial assistance.
Grassroots Awareness
A lot of people at the lower end of the educational and or socio-economic strata in African countries are uninformed about cancer. We conduct regular native language-based education and awareness campaigns in local hospitals, markets, and streets, along with offering free cervical screening programmes.
Supporting Treatment
We offer cancer care support and provide financial assistance to indigent cancer patients, in order to allow them concentrate on what matters most - surviving cancer.
HiT Supported Cancer Care (HSCC) Units
Considering the rising number of cancer cases and deaths in Africa, we are partnering with local teams at University Teaching Hospitals to establish an Integrated Cancer Clinic.
“Thank you, Help In Time Consults, for extending this kind gesture towards my daughter, who was diagnosed with Brainstem glioma and needed ₦90,000 for an MRI BRAIN Scan. I learned about Help In Time Consults through Dr. Kogo of NSIA-LUTH, Idi Araba, Lagos. I never thought help could come through Help In Time Consults in this way. This is a dream come true.”
